KISA – Action for Equality, Support, Antiracism completes this year’s events commemorating the 18th of December, which has been proclaimed by the General Assembly of the United Nations as International Migrants Day in December 2020 (A/RES/55/93), with the organisation of a celebration event on Wednesday, 18 December 2019, at 18:00, at the Book Club “Yfantourgeio” (67-71 Lefkonos street, next to Phaneromeni school).

In the first part of the event, entitled «Young migrants tell us how a piece of paper can change our lives», young men and women, raised here and living among us with dignity and self-confidence anymore, will talk to us about themselves, their lives,  expectations and dreams but also about the difficult path they themselves, their parents and siblings have had to tread in order to arrive at the point they are today, due to their insecure and irregular residence status in Cyprus.

Following that, professionals (representative of the Commissioner for the Protection of Children’s Rights, an academic, a journalist, a lawyer and an independent legal expert), engaged and distinguished for their action / work in this field, will comment and express their views on the issues brought to the fore by the young migrants and make suggestions and proposals for improving the situation .

In the third part of the event, the participants will have the opportunity to meet, network and exchange views in a pleasant environment with live music and snacks
