In the context of the “Civil Society Exchange & Networking Seminar on Trafficking in Human Beings”, which it is organising on the 22nd and 23rd of October 201, in the context of the “EU Anti-Trafficking Day” on the 18th of October, KISA – Action for Equality, Support, Antiracism would like to invite the public to the welcome opening of the Seminar, which will take place on Monday, 21st of October 2013, at 19:00 – 21:00, at KISA’s premises (48 Arsinoe Street in the Old Town of Nicosia).

The main objective of the Seminar is to renew, develop and strengthen sustainable networking, exchanges and cooperation between NGOs working against trafficking in human beings in both parts of Cyprus and the main countries of origin of victims or potential victims of trafficking, as well as with transit countries. In this framework, the seminar aims to promote a more systematic, holistic and effective protection and support of trafficking victims, as well as to contribute to combating this heinous crime both in Cyprus and the countries of origin (the agenda of the Seminar is attached).

The American Ambassador to the Republic of Cyprus, Mr John M. Koenig, and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Mr Andreas Assiotis, will address the welcome meeting. A cocktail reception will follow.

KISA is organizing the Seminar with the support and financial assistance of the U.S. Embassy in Cyprus.
